Manuscript preparation
1 - Manuscripts should be typed on A4-size paper, with top, bottom and side margins set to 2,54 cm (1 inch), observing the following requirements: the text should be typed in Microsoft® Word® Processor (Times New Roman 12 font with 1,5-spaced lines) and all pages should be consecutively numbered in the top right-hand corner.
2 - The first page of the article should show: the title of the paper (in bold and upper case), names of authors with the corresponding author identified with an asterisk, and affiliations. For the corresponding author, please supply the appropriate full postal address, e-mail address and telephone/fax numbers. An abstract of no more than 150 words or 6 lines must be included as well as 5 keywords.
3 - The number of authors per papers must not exceed 6.
4 - Units and symbols: for the former, preference should be given to the SI units.
5 - Original articles must contain the following sections: introduction, materials and methods, results and discussions, conclusions, acknowledgements (if needed) and references list.
6 - The equations should be numbered in a sequential manner, with Arabic figures within parentheses, aligned at the right-hand side of the line.
Where:
A = cycloid area
r = radius of the generator circle
7 - Figures and tables should be numbered consecutively with Arabic figures and should be cited in the text. Figures must be sufficiently clear, avoiding the use of small characters. Tables must be simple, without excessive number of lines, with clear indication of each variable with respective unit.
8 - References in the text must be mentioned according to the Brazilian Technical Standards Association (ABNT – NBR 10520, August 2002).
Example:
(Dutra, 1985) or “According to Dutra (1985)…”. When dealing with two authors, both will be mentioned (Dutra and Moura, 1985) or “Dutra and Moura (1985) observed…”. For references with 3 or more authors, mention the first author followed by the abbreviation et al.. When several references are cited together, they should be presented in alphabetical order (Dutra and Moura, 1985; Silva, 1992).
9 - All cited references should be listed at the end of the manuscript, in alphabetical order according to the Brazilian Technical Standards Association ABNT – NBR 10520, August 2002. Referral to the original language of the text may be cited at the end of each reference if needed:
